In northern Saskatchewan, La Ronge Band Council developed the vision and mission of Kitsaki Development Corporation. It then applied its own process of planning to choose a method of development that would maximize profits for the Band and opportunities for its members. In Sioux Lookout, Ontario, the Windigo Tribal Council has two agreements about local mines with a third on the way. Each is a five-party agreement, signed by the company, the federal and provincial governments, Windigo, and its affected Bands. Each covers employment, business development, community development and worker support, traditional practices and land-use issues, and environmental protection.
